Summary

I evaluate AI-enabled and data-driven systems as well as build them: preparing data, comparing models, validating outputs, investigating defects, documenting findings, and reviewing AI-assisted work for accuracy, security, and reliability. At GrowGrid NL I lead a connected agriculture product; at Memorial University I taught practical Computer Architecture and Computer Security labs.

Automated Transmission Tower Inspections

Computer vision · Academic and industry collaboration

As one contributor on a collaborative project with SEM Ltd., I worked on data preparation, model training and evaluation, edge deployment to an NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano, DJI drone integration, and system-level validation.

Models were deployed to run on NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano edge hardware with DJI drone integration.

Pneumonia Detection with Deep Neural Networks

Medical AI · Academic project

I designed and evaluated the models, compared DenseNet121, ResNet50, EfficientNet-B3, and a custom CNN, addressed class imbalance and overfitting, tuned the decision threshold, and deployed the selected model behind a Streamlit interface.

Reported project evaluation results: 88.2% accuracy, 90.4% precision, 90.3% recall. Not a clinically validated system.

Autonomous Drone Simulation

Intelligent systems · Academic project

I developed and validated an autonomous drone-control simulation, implemented real-time telemetry and OFFBOARD control workflows, validated IMU, GPS, and positioning data, and performed system-level debugging and log analysis.

Used log analysis and telemetry validation to investigate state-estimation and preflight reliability issues.

CNN–LSTM Image Captioning

Multimodal AI · Academic project

A prototype encoder–decoder combining VGG16 feature extraction with an LSTM, demonstrating transfer learning, tokenization, and sequence modelling.

Processes an image and a partial caption together to predict the next word.
