About Me
The person behind the systems.
01
My story
I started out building for other people's storefronts. Over five years, I've delivered 150+ projects across agencies, startups, tech firms, and freelance work. That variety taught me that most bugs live between systems — an interface waiting on a service, a service trusting data it shouldn't — so I got comfortable reading logs, tracing integrations, and staying with a problem until I could explain it.
My work has crossed South Asian, European, American, Canadian, and Middle Eastern teams and work environments. I've also spent more than two years working with local companies here in Newfoundland and Labrador. Both perspectives matter to me: the breadth of working across cultures, and the chance to show up for the place I call home.
Graduate study at Memorial University moved me further into applied AI and computer vision. Preparing datasets, comparing models, and deploying them on edge hardware made me more careful about results: a strong number means little until it survives messy input.
Teaching Computer Architecture and Computer Security labs changed how I communicate. When a student is stuck, the first explanation rarely lands; I learned to try a second and a third, and to check understanding instead of assuming it.
GrowGrid NL is where these threads meet. It's my own venture — sensors, firmware, cloud services, and a web interface in one product — and it keeps me honest about reliability, because the people depending on it can see when something breaks.
Outside of work, I'm community-minded by instinct. I look for ways to help — volunteering, mentoring, joining local events, or simply making a useful introduction. I keep learning through tech podcasts, hackathons, networking events, my own side projects, and the simple pleasure of playing around with a new tool. I also love travel and animals.
02
My ethos
Commitments I hold myself to — practised imperfectly, and taken seriously.
01
Own it end to end
I take responsibility for implementation, validation, and follow-through — not just the part that gets demoed.
02
Say what I don't know
When I'm uncertain about a result, a timeline, or a cause, I say so early and explain what would resolve it.
03
Think about access early
Accessibility and inclusion are cheaper and better when they shape the first design, not the last patch.
04
Handle information with care
I collect only what a feature needs and treat other people's data as something borrowed.
05
Review what AI produces
I use AI-assisted tools for research and drafting, and I read and check their output before it informs a decision.
06
Give credit, work constructively
Collaborative work stays labelled as collaborative, and disagreement is a way to reach a better answer.
07
Keep learning by doing
I stay curious through tech podcasts, hackathons, networking, personal projects, and experimenting with new tools.
08
Show up for the community
I try to contribute where I can — volunteering, sharing what I know, and making space for people around me.
03
My approach
01
Understand
Users, constraints, and the problem underneath the request.
02
Design
Choose an approach that fits the requirements rather than the trend.
03
Build
Write maintainable software that the next person can read.
04
Validate
Check functionality, accessibility, reliability, and the relevant risks.
05
Improve
Learn from feedback and refine the result.
